VIEW + NEWS: Zambia's Ephraim Mutalange Speaks up Against Awards for Gospel Artistes

Its the season of awards...Gospel City Naija took a delve into the Zambian Gospel music scene. We uncovered the view of a popular Zambian Gospel artiste known as Ephraim Mutalange and this is what he made his point clear.

He is regarded as one of the top most gospel artistes in Zambia and got nominated for an award. This is what he had to say:

"Please don't vote for me in this year's awards, there are just some things Christians are not supposed to be part of, believe me. I have learnt as God has been maturing me in my walk with him that I can not be yoked with non believers.

"Am different the world needs me and if I keep being found and talking like them or singing with them, they will feel God is ok with what they are doing. I am the light of this world. i just feel these secular awards are meant for the secular people. I am a mouth piece of God and that makes me different. I can't allow the secular company to determine my worship and praise to my God. Jesus honors me better. Forget about wether I or you will be nominated or whate... just continue being a blessing. These things are meant to destruct your faith in God. I will appreciate if you don't waste your money and time in trying to make me win. I am already a winner in Christ. God confirmed it many years ago. This also goes to my fellow singers and musicians"

  1. He didn't make sense at all, even the light needs to shine in darkness... That's a platform they're giving you to preach the gospel in 5 minutes too and you're rejecting it, silly. Haven't you seen the Kirks and Yolandas and Donnies receive awards? What do they say as "thank you speech"? The preach

  2. I quite agree with him as we are emulators of christ we have to ask ourselves how many awards did our lord jesus get for preaching the Gospel none, but always did return the glory to God so awards do NOT give you the platform to preach at any instance
