Something huge is happening on online radio on the 28th and 29th of December 2012. A premium online radio station that is fast becoming a global sensation, Praiseworld Radio, will be airing a massive collection of 50 great hits that made the year, 2012. And yes, they will be doing it in collaboration with the best gospel blogs/sites around here.
Gospel City Naija is part of this impressive project so we took out time to chat with an official representative of Praiseworld Radio, Mr. Olutola Omoniyi. He told us a couple of things that will interest you and we also took out time to get the full info you need about the project.
Hello Tola, good to have you here. Tell us about Praiseworld Radio
Praiseworld Radio is Africa’s premium online Gospel Radio station based in Lagos, Nigeria with round the clock broadcast of urban gospel content ranging from music, news, talk shows and much more.
When did it have its first broadcast?
Praiseworld radio was officially launched on Friday, June 1, 2012 with a Praise Party mix from one of ours, Dj Xpressit, who gave our pioneer listeners a tip of the revolution to hit the gospel entertainment scene.
Great. Briefly tell us about yourself and your relationship with Praise World Radio.
Ummmm….I am Olutola Omoniyi. I happen to be the one God has appointed to manage this great Praiseworld vision, as the CEO and Head of the Praiseworld team.
Nice to meet you, Tola. Well, this interview is mainly about the oncoming TOP 50 COUNTDOWN put together by your team and some major gospel bloggers in Nigeria.
It’s the end of the year and about that time when we get to do a lot of review and appraisal on happenings, events and achievements of the year.
Nigerian gospel music artistes, I must say, have worked really hard this year, releasing tons of broadcast worthy hit songs. We have therefore teamed up with some of the top notch music pluggers, promoters and reporters in the industry like GospelNaija, GospelMusicNaija, Yadamag, Gospogroove, Gospotainment, GospelCityNaija and Praizhouse to countdown the top50 of these songs.
Alright. When is this going down?
It’s a 2 day countdown. That means we’ll be splitting it in two. From number 50 to number 25 on Friday, December 28 and from number 25 to number 1 on Saturday, December 29 live on Praiseworld Radio.
With the success of Praiseworld Radio so far, do you have any parting words for your listeners, the general public, artistes as well as the person seeing this post?
