Gospel City Naija caught up with a very promising Nigerian gospel rapper some time last week. We hit the studio with him as he went about recording his first single and mehhhhnnnnn...it was phat!
His name is EddyJay and he seamlessly flows his way through rap lines as easy as breathing air. The track he recorded is titled "Incredible Superstar" and will indeed mark him out as an incredible gospel rap superstar...but the young man has got so much humility going for him and gives all credits to Jesus on this track.
"Christ was crucified and now He lives and is my incredible superstar...This track was borne out of the need to set priorities right. A lot of rappers get it twisted. Christ is the real superstar...someone gotto let 'em know", he quipped.
He went on to describe a couple of stuffs about the music industry that impressed us so much. This young man has got more than music going for him. He is an encyclopedia of sorts when it comes to the world of music and the gospel.
He got in the studio booth and within 35 minutes, the track was fully ready. The work was handed over to the studio's mixmaster to do his 'thang' on it. EddyJay dropped the rap bars, sang the hook, delivered the adlibs and gave a shout out to Gospel City Naija at the begining of the track. This is one hot gospel jam you gotto watch out for.
