Look closely at the guy on the accompanying picture of this post. He is one of Zambia’s finest gospel music acts with international reckon and an expanding fan base.
His name is Abel Chungu and yes, he is a rare super breed of the gospel of Christ. Beyond his music, Abel is a committed minister of God that has spent the most of his life in ministry and is still committed to the ministry.
He is a perfect reflection of someone who walks with the grace of God. This Saturday, he will be launching an album. Gospel City Naija caught up with him and we had this chat. Moreso, we thought it apt to give him a full Intro while we were at it.

It’s good to have you here. With the release of your album hovering in the air, tell us about it.It’s coming up this Saturday at my home church, Miracle Life Family church.
So what should people expect on the D-day?
It will be an unforgettable night. We aim to see a lot of people get to know Jesus.
That's great. Who will be performing along with you? Or is it just you that will perform?
I've got a band called "Life of Honor". But opening will be my brothers from a group I'm part of called Lotta House. It comprises of Mag44, Pompi and Tio.
Ok. Back to the album, tell us about it. What’s it about?
Good question. This album has been in the making for a few years. So now, it’s the first of a trilogy. The album is a break away from traditional worship into a mixture only inspired by the heart of God. It’s a blend of Rock, regea, RnB and rap.
Interesting… What particular tracks would u tell your listeners to look forward to?
It’s a wide album so I can't really think of one but a song called "Grace".
Why did you pick out 'Grace'?
I picked it because it’s a song we all need to reflect on in life.
Do you have any plans to circulate your music beyond Zambia?
Most def. It will be on itunes and we are always looking to distribute through as many avenues as possible.
Which specific African countries are you targeting to extend your work to?
Hmm....my tops would be 1. Ethiopia 2. Malawi 3. Botswana 4. Nigeria 5. Namibia 6. South Africa 7. Ghana

Abel Chungu Musuka is a young man who was born in Lusaka Zambia in 1985. He is the son of a former Government Minister and Ambassador Otema Musuka and Georgina Musuka. Abel was raised in a strong Christian home. He was led to the Lord by his mother at the age of four after asking her to lead him to Jesus.
He grew up traveling to different nations as a child due to his father serving in diplomatic services. In the course of this, a great desire arose in Abel. The desire is to go around the World and preach the gospel to the Nations. His own father was a shining example of a man who would share the gospel to other diplomats and dignitaries from around the World while serving his country.
After finishing his 12th Grade in 2002 at Taonga Trust School in Lusaka, Abel was given his first job at "Picture Perfect Productions", a leading media house in Zambia as an intern director. This job helped him write scrips for Zambia’s first soap opera and head the advertising department for Zambia’s first reality TV show.
This was a great exposure to the entertainment industry for Abel. Eventually, he gave it up to go to college and study Information Technology. But it was during a mission trip to Livingstone town that Abel got reconnected with his calling. After leading a young lady found in prostitution to the Lord, the feeling overwhelmed him so much that he asked God if he could do it daily. The Lord responded with "Yes that's why I'm sending you into Ministry".
A year later, with the support of his family and friends, Abel moved to Oklahoma to study at RHEMA Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow. Abel spent two years there training in youth ministry. While there, God elevated his music ministry with new songs sung all around the World. With followings in Indian, Spanish and Ethiopian churches all across the US, Abel’s music has seen no boundaries.
Abel Graduated in the RHEMA class of 2009. He came back to serve as Youth Director for his home Church, Miracle Life Family Church under Pastor Walker and Haley Shurz. Abel has also served with The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia to train the Church in election monitoring. This part was well clear as Zambia had a free and fair election in 2011.
Abel’s dream has come alive as he is now serving with Miracle Lifeunder a traveling ministry basis.He is married to the love of his life, Zarina Hassen Musuka. His wife is also in Bible School with RHEMA Zambia. Abel is set to release his first album titled "Worship of the Love Revolutionary" on December 29th .
With already a following of thousands around the world, it’s sure to make its mark. He points out that he is not set on launching an album but a movement.
Clearly, Abel is one that is driven and moved by the Love of God, basing his Ministry on John 13:35. "Jesus is the center of all Ministry, He is Love, sharing Jesus is sharing Love" is what he believes.
Music is not the primary focus for Abel but the gospel that flows out of it. Sounds will change but the gospel will not. The Songs he writes have spoken for themselves with titles such as "The Overcomers”, “Fire shut up in my bones”, “The Evangelist and Fathers Child”. Abel desires to Love God and Love people.
