YOLO (You Only Live Once) became quite a popular catchphrase after Canadian rapper, Drake, released a track called YOLO. A lot of youths have been very caught up in it.
We stumbled on a post by The Urban Gospel, an online christian platform that desires to build the bridge between the gospel and urban culture by presenting articles, videos, testimonies, music, and discussions that not only address cultural problems, but also point to solutions for each issue.
In this feature, they addressd the YOLO standpoint and gave validated insights that will open you up to substantial truth.
[Last year ], my friend was telling me about a conversation she had with a guy on New Year’s Eve who told her that his plans were to go to church and receive his “new year’s blessing,” then afterwards go to the club in order to get “faded.” After thinking about what he said, she told him that the two things he planned to do were contradictory, and he replied to her by saying, “YOLO.”
That was when I asked her, “What in the world does YOLO mean?” And she told me that Drake, a popular rapper, started the phrase which means “You only live once.”
I then started thinking about the phrase, “YOLO.” We only have one life to live, so we might as well do whatever we want with it before we die, right? Wrong. That idea would make sense if the bible didn’t say,
This means that everyone in the world is going to die, and after our deaths God will judge us based on the lives that we had lived. There is only one guarantee in life, death. So with this idea in mind, does it really make sense to rebel against God as much as possible on this earth before we meet him? Not really.
So I then decided to create my own phrase, “YOJO.” Which means, “You’re only judged once.” Since we only have one life to live (there is no second chances), we should use it to glorify God instead of ticking him off. Think about this, are a couple nights of unsatisfying sin really worth an eternity in hell? I don’t think so. Living for God is what really matters, and also it leads to eternal life.
So remember, its YOJO not YOLO.

Young people, well most of them, believe this lie that its your life...and since you'll live once, make the most of it by having fun and doing whatever you want...its sad. I think most of us dont know that we will all live for eternity...some with God while others with the devil.
