#WORD + BLOGGER ::: "God First, Bruv" by Philip Asuquo

Again, our Chief Admin takes out his digital pen to share these musings with us.

Today, he blogs about putting God first and getting life's puzzle right.

He took out time to treat the topic and even shared his personal experience in the course of doing so. We recommend that you read this piece and anticipate more from him because he intends to bring out his digital pen more often. In the mean time, read this post and get the puzzle of life right.

God First, bruv!                                           Written By Philip Asuquo

“The time that I wasted can never compare to this…Don’t wait to feel the epiphany of the fall, if you are still asleep…Wake up and answer His Call” – Luke9, Zambian gospel rapper.

The word epiphany is one that strikes me with so much force. Wikipedia describes it thus:
“An epiphany (from the ancient Greek ἐπιφάνεια, epiphaneia, "manifestation, striking appearance") is an experience of sudden and striking realization. Generally the term is used to describe scientific breakthrough, religious or philosophical discoveries, but it can apply in any situation in which an enlightening realization allows a problem or situation to be understood from a new and deeper perspective.”

I grew up within the folds of The Apostolic Church and always admired the Church’s logo that has Jesus as a shepherd with a lamb in one hand and a staff in the other. However, one other logo whose inscription strikes me into profound realization is the one for the Apostolic Witnesses. It’s a very modest, unambiguous and unassuming logo but the written inscription in the middle simply states “God First” and that, my friend, is the reason for this piece.

Putting God First in your life is like finding a magical piece of the puzzle, placing it in the puzzle box and having every other piece fall automatically and rightfully into place. Yes, life can seem like one big puzzle with so many different pieces. If you know the right piece to start with, everything falls into place and you finally get the picture inscribed in the puzzle.

The trick has always been in finding that piece. We are all handed some pieces of the puzzle at different times in our lives. If we don’t have the right piece, we go searching for it. Some of us have the right piece yet we go out searching. Others have it and know they do but keep turning it around in their sceptic fingers and waiting for maybe a divine instruction or major sign that will help them place it into place.

Which category do you fall under? Do you have some pieces of life’s puzzle in your hands but feel that you don’t have the right one? Are you out searching for that one piece that will make every other one fall into place but don’t know how to recognise it even when you see it? Do you have the piece already but keep waiting for a profound ‘miracle’ or tragedy to occur before you fit it into place?

This takes us to this question: WHAT IS THE RIGHT PIECE? Well, here, the answer is simple. God is the right piece that makes every other piece fall in place. Having the right piece entails having God. We were made in God’s image and likeness and put into this world. It is only apt that we stay conscious of the purpose our creator made us for. With all the distractions that we find here on earth, it is only finding and keeping our place in God that we ever truly get to live into manifested glory.

Nothing has been made useless. Everything is useful for one purpose or the other. It is necessary that we get to know that things are most useful when they in their rightful places. Take this into consideration; of what essence is a hammer to a cook preparing a meal? It’s an inappropriate tool to have in the kitchen right? Okay, take that hammer to a carpenter’s shop and see how helpful it is to the carpenter. The Hammer will be useful there and the carpenter will surely appreciate having it there and this is because it is in the right place where its function will be needed.

So it is with us when we find our true and rightful place in God. We are tools that are cut out for unique purposes. Your function is undermined when you are in the wrong place or in the wrong hands. In God’s hands, you get into your optimum function even in a grossly distracted world.

How does this happen? Simply search within you, if you find God, place Him first! Your path to finding God starts with steps of faith and belief. The beauty of it all is that once you push away the shards of the veil that was already torn by the death and resurrection of Christ, you have started a journey that will bring you into folds of wisdom in God even as your life pieces fall into place and great purpose becomes ‘you’ every day.

God first, bruv! All that confusion and limited success can be transformed into divine coordination and unlimited grace! And it all happens when you put the right piece of the puzzle first. No, its not such a hard thing to do. It’s simple and much simpler when you have and allow the Holy Spirit guide you towards God’s glory.

Where do you start? Have the conviction that you want to walk in God’s truth towards full Purpose in Him. Do away with anything that weakens your strength in God’s manifestation. Accept Jesus. Be vigilante and fight away every appearance of sin that might want to resurface. This should be done with the word of God, prayers and staying conscious of God’s profound love for you.

And hey, sin is not so ‘cool’ as it looks. Try living without sin and you will experience the ‘real cool’.  We are designed in God’s image and likeness. He that made us is sinless. He is clean. He is divine. He is love. He is kind. He is glorious. Oh what banner of love He has given unto us to become like Him!

All the years we waste in sin and out of God’s fullness can never compare to the years we find in Him. My personal experience is a testimony of this truism. I grew up conscious of God’s love around us but never really knew what it embodies till I took and stayed committed to a constant walk with Him towards His Truth and Purpose.

Putting God first brings you towards and into completeness. Today, people might look at what you do and give you a pat in the back but when you come into fullness in God, great will be the works of your hand  because you will be functioning with the Might of the Mighty God.

Whatever it is that you are doing, whatever you want to become, your innate Purpose is larger and better than it all. That Purpose that has been deposited in you by God is above every act of whim or handedness that propels you away from His Truth.

Get the puzzles of life right by putting first that which is RIGHT. Righteousness exalts a nation. Imagine how RIGHTeousness would uplift a person with its strength that exalts a nation. God first, bruv. That should be your motto as you have come into this profound truth. God bless you.
