He is based in Port Harcourt and has not relented in churning out some of the top gospel songs from top rated gospellers around his base.
Born David Chike on a new year day (January 1st), he is better know by his stage name Dr Roy and has got a kind of midas touch that puts the songs he produces on the top echeloens of music ratings. Dr Roy was born and raised in Port harcourt and has been very much in the foreground of Port Harcourt's music scene. All in good stead, he took leaps to discover his gifts, harnessed them and eventually had some of the top names doing music today seek him out for his input.
Definitely, he didn't just wake up to start treating beats with the good mastery of some of the best production equipment he uses today. Music production started quite early for him when he began making hip hop tracks on a Casio keyboard while in primary school. He took to the keyboard and stuck to it.
Professionally, Dr roy began his career as a music producer but has worked his way into being one of the best sound engineers around here. His zeal for good music and the grace of God has brought him way more than what his contemporaries have garnered. Having worked on himself overtime, it was only apt for the doors to open up for some of the best acts to walk into the doc's sound clinic.
