Today we introduce you to one of Kogi State's finest gospel music ministers whom we revere. His name is Lord Bishop and what he has done so far for the gospel is quite commendable.
We chose to call him Mr. Perfect Balance because this brother weaves through his career in the financial sector and mixes it so well with his music calling in God. He is articulate, he is revered. Its quite a wonder that he succeeds with the two loads of ministry and career on his shoulders. A feat a lot of people can't attain.
From his base, he has been quite supportive to the gospel over the years and hasn't slowed down in his bid to spread the gospel through music and every means possible.
With a name like Lord Bishop, you sure will want to know more about this gospel artiste that goes by this moniker. His real name is Atomode Jide Benjamin and he is one gospeller that effortlessly achieves the aims and set targets of his music calling in God without much fuse.
Lord Bishop is an indigene of Bunu Local Government Area and grew up in the Central Region of Nigeria, precisely in the Confluence state. He obtained an OND and a HND in Accountancy from Kogi State Polytechnic then went on to get a B.Sc in economics at the Joseph Ayo Babalola University.
Known for his astute and unrivalled commitment for excellence and extensity, he went on to enrol and obtain a PGD in management Science from the Ladoke Akintola University before getting and MBA from the same university. To top it all up, he got an ACMA (Chartered Cost Accountant) from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants.
With such robust professional educational background, unsurprisingly he is employed in the finance sector but this has not taken him away from music ministry. As a matter of fact, he uses the same articulate professionalism to disburse his efforts towards spreading the gospel of Christ via music.
He relentlessly works round the clock when he gets time off his professional schedule and even combines his weekend and weekdays in a way to boost his efforts in his music and his career. Obviously, Lord Bishop has mastered the art of fusing career and calling in a way that makes both get the best from him.
He has performed at over 200 major concerts in Nigeria and around the world. He is known to be the co-organizer of Christmas Praise Jams, an annual gospel event that has a regular attendance of over 5000 people. At the event, they give out free food stuffs, phones, TV, DVD players etc to less privileged persons.
Beside this, Lord Bishop also supports other gospel concerts around the year. He also supports crusades and other gatherings for the gospel. One that comes to mind is the Richard Bonkie’s Crusade in Kogi State.
In his home state, Bishop is known as a household name especially in churches and this stems from his visible support and music ministrations. This has given him recognition from several quarters. He is a worshipper of God and never relents in letting everyone know that his allegiance is with God.
So far, he has been conferred with different awards in recognition of his efforts and they include Best praise and worship leader 2011, Future Gospel music legend of kogi state 2012, Best Gospel artist of the year 2012 amongst others.
Indeed, this brother has set his mind on raising the gospel of Christ above principalities no matter the cost. He puts his money, time and opportunities into promoting and promulgating the gospel. He is one of the seemingly few Kingdom supporters in Nigeria.
His music is just another arm to express his God-given gift and be a blessing to people that are opportune to hear him minister. With a host of great gospel songs written and recorded by him, LORD BISHOP is set to spread the gospel some more beyond his state, his country and his present coverage.
He has also ministered along with some of the notable names in gospel music. Lord Bishop is single and we know that wont be for long. After successfully balancing career and ministry, we sure know he'll take up a good woman that wont tip that balance .
