Gospel comedy is one sub genre that a lot of comedians shy away from. Most of them start out doing it then switch out into mainstream vulgarity and 'every-day' jokes. A lot of people are of the opinion that doing the sub genre restricts a comedian to churches and this, to them, is unsavory.

A lot more say gospel comedians are paupers. Well, there seem to be a mind shift from that reality as a couple of gospel comedians are sticking their head out for the sub genre and have considerably made leeway through craft. 

One of such is Holy Mallam. Such a twist, huh? Contrary to what his moniker connotes, Holy Mallam is not a  muslim. He is christian comedian that has kept his jokes on the clean side for over 10 years now. Here, we get you a lil' up close on him.

WHO IS HOLYMALLAM

Many people know the comedian known as Holy Mallam but many do not know the man behind the public figure,the man who created one of Nigeria's most gifted and celebrated comedians.

Ajibola Adebayo was born on the 23rd of May in the 70's.He hails from Ijebu-North local government of Ogun State.His primary school education was in Festac while he went to Command Secondary School in Plauteau State for his secondary education.He studied Communication Art at the Lagos State University(LASU) and had the opportunity to be trained by the United State Agency for International Development(USAID).

He made his entrance into the stand-up comedy scene some years ago and in desirous of becoming a successful and popular comedian,he created the character known as HOLY MALLAM,a wise -cracking illiterate born again Christian who cracks biblical jokes

The story of HolyMallam will not be complete as a comedian and MC compere without mentioning his family,he met his hearthrob ijeoma in 2004 at a comedy show in ikoyi who has been very supportive to him,a loving husband and father who never fails to attribute his success to his family that has contributed immensely to the wonderful and great man he is today.

The marriage is blessed with three wonderful gifts Toluwalope Laughter Ajibola,Oluwatitomi Great Ajibola and Oluwakimi Fortune Ajibola who are all smart and intelligent like their parents.
