Freke Umoh is out with a new single and yes, the single crashed his website due to the heavy traffic it pulled.
We had an interview with him last Christmas when he released his overtly impressive hit, Mary's Lamb. He also gave us pointers to the fact that 2013 was a year to look forward to. Today , we are premiering this brand new track from him.
The song was released online on 31st of March 2013 and within hours, it got a lot of downloads to the extent that his website exceeded its bandwidth and crashed. Okay, tell me that aint tragically and amazingly awesome!
We beeped up Mr. Freke Umoh and asked him how he feels about his website crashing due to traffic from his just released song and he said thus:
"Its actually a mixed feeling. i feel overwhelmingly grateful to have such traffic to cause a site crash but kind of bad for those who have to wait for the site to get back up in order to download".
Well, that part has been taken care of as we premier the song right here on Gospel City Naija. We also asked him to tell us about the song and he had this to say:
"The title of the song is "Why Oh Why'. Its just me wondering how great the love of God is to me. it has a sub-hook 'se ima do' which is efik/ibibio's way of saying 'see love o'.
"I wanted to do something that we can get our praise on with to celebrate Easter so that's how 'Why Oh Why' was born. The love of Jesus is so wonderful, powerful and quite mysterious to the human mind. The bible talks about it's depth, height and width being beyond knowledge.
"So, in doing this song, I'm saying that I may not know why Jesus loves me so much but I am so grateful that I'll praise Him for it!"
