NEWS + VIDEO : Sign Up Missions (SUM) and Gospel City Naija plan to Renovate Orphanage in Abuja

Late last year, Gospel City Naija teamed up with Sign Up Missions (SUM)and a couple of brands/artistes to host children from five orphanages in Abuja. The event paraded some of the best gospel acts in Abuja and had several features that thrilled the kids and gave them a good time. SUM is an NGO that is committed to reaching out and helping orphans and widows in Africa. 

The organization has been involved in this cause for over ten years now and is headed by its pioneer, Arome Adaji. This year, they plan to do more for orphans and widows. We spoke to Arome and he made us know that they will be renovating one of the orphanage homes in Abuja. 

" With the success of our last NIGERIA CHILD FIESTA, we are embarking on another effort that will touch the lives of orphans. We have selected Talitacumi Orphanage Home in Abuja and will be working with the management to ensure that the children have a better living condition...", he divulged. Looking at the project, it can be deduced that it will be capital intensive. 

SUM is known for bringing people together to achieve developmental and other life-touching efforts. We asked him how funds will be sourced for this and he replied thus; "We are trusting that well-meaning Nigerians,artistes,and everyone with the heart to help should join us as we change,re-build and give this kids a sense of belonging in our society by sending in paints,cements,fans,gas cooker,children beds,clothings,Drilling machines, etc ".

Presently, the target orphanage home (Talitacumi Orphanage Home, Abuja) is in a very deplorable state and needs renovation and provision of amenities. "...they need good toilets,water(Borehole),building renovations,first Aid box and a lot of other things. We want to renovate the place and provide amenities that will make the place habitable and comfortable for the kids...", Arome proffered.
