EXCLUSIVE + INTERVIEW : " Its a New Me Now", SOUL E BABA Speaks to Gospel City Naija about his Career, Music Ministry and More

Okay...here's a big one. ya'll remember Soul E Baba right? He dropped that soar-away hit that had our radios and tvs fixated on,

The track was an instant hit and its video did justice to it. In no time,we were all dancing away to his feel-good-music. Bottom line, he became a household name.

Well, its 2013 and believe us, a lot has flowed under the bridge. Soul E Baba recently dropped a new video and its already picking up rotation on cable, terrestial and satellite Tv.

We had to hook up with him. The peculiar thing about his come back is that he is totally drenched in God. Soul E Baba has reaffirmed his calling and is wholly commited to the work of his Father, our God. Enjoy this interview with him...

Hello Soul E, good to have you here. For the benefit of our readers, especially the foreign ones, tell us briefly about you...

My names are Emmanuel Kingsoule okose. Am the frist born of a family of 6, I have one bro and two girls, my father is an Apostle of God and am from Delta state.

We know you for a popular hit you did back in the days...And so will most of our readers. Can you talk about that part of you and the you we are with now?

I was called to do the gospel even when I was doing secular I was always talking about God but the difference between me now is that am a singer for my Father and also a prophet of God so I operate in two offices - the prophetic office and the music ministry office.

That's great. A lot of artistes struggle with the decision of singing for God or staying secular. Can you recount what led you to this place in God and what fueled you to it?

Well, when I was 8, I was with the prophetic gift. i could look at people and tell them their age, what they will be and so on. It was so for me. Being with God is the best. I have been to over 13 nations because of the gospel. For me, if u are called to be a voice you have to do it for the creator.

You've been away from the mainstream for sometime. When did you make this choice and how many songs have u released eversince?

Well its a new me now. Before God used Moses, He took him far and when he came back he was a new man. That is what happened to me. I was being renewed for the work the Father has called me for all this while, that's why I was not heard beacuse it was not yet time... but its time now and am back with a fresh prophetic and worshipful voice for my generation. I  am not just an artist...I am a voice to as many that are ready to be blessed by my ministry.

Nice. So Gospel City Naija can confidently tell the world that Soul E has gone fully gospel and will remain in the gospel, right?

I did not go gospel. I am gospel for my generation...lion gives brith to lion so I am doing the work of my Father.

We use this context because a lot of people deemed you secular due to your previous works

Yes I know but its a new me now. My new name is The Prophet of Praise Soul E Baba

That's newness! We got wind of your new video, even before you told us about it. Can you share with us what prompted you to do the song and its central message?

Well, its a song that talks about my life and my story and am thanking the Father for His mercy and grace upon my life so its a thank u song.

Lovely. You had your wife and kids in the video. You also had a very relaxed mien. Its obviously His grace upon you.A lot of people seek peace and rest...what would you advise them to do?

That's not my wife in the video and does aren not my kids its a song for everyone generally so its a video. Its only God that can give peace its not found any were eles, the only way u can get peace is by knowing the father the more the closer u get to him the more peace you have.

Ok. Its 2013 and you've started it well with the release of this video. What more do we expect from you this year?

The album will be out next month. I  will let you know the date. The video will be every where this week or next. I don't raise fans, I raise followers. They should expect great songs from the prophet of praise Soul E Baba

We actually advise people not to call people who follow them 'fans'. Its good you brought this up. Can you throw light on it so people who don't understand will get to?

Fans are not stable. They can be a fan but followers will always stay by you no matter what. They will believe in you, trust in you and will wait for you anytime you are  ready.

Having been in the mainstream  music sector, what would you say are delimiting gospel music in Nigeria. What do people need to wake up to?

The church needs to wake up and support their own so that things will start moving forward for gospel music ministry.

Alright. You mentioned the release of your album coming up next month. Tell us about it

Yeah, its going to be out next month.  It's an album that everyone needs. it's a thank you album for God. It will be in Alaba international market. The album is called  "Message".

Are there particular songs/production/collabos on d album that you want us to look out for?

All the songs are hits. Its an album to get. It will be a blessing to you.
